Runway Launches Plugin for DaVinci Resolve Editors

Runway says editors can now call up its generation, editing, and upscaling models straight from a DaVinci Resolve timeline, cutting out the need to jump between separate apps.

Runway announced a new integration that brings its AI models directly into DaVinci Resolve, the widely used editing software from Blackmagic Design. According to the company, editors can now generate footage, make edits, and upscale clips without leaving their project timeline. The pitch is workflow efficiency: rather than exporting footage to a browser-based tool, running it through Runway's models, and reimporting the results, editors would be able to trigger those same generative tools from inside Resolve itself. That could appeal to professional editors and post-production teams who already rely on Resolve for color, sound, and cutting, but have had to break their workflow to bring in AI-generated shots or fixes. Runway made the announcement in a post on X, pointing users to its plugins page to get started. The company did not detail pricing, which specific models are available through the plugin, or whether any features are limited compared to using Runway's standalone platform.
