Higgsfield has raised a $400 million Series B round that values the company at $5.4 billion, a roughly fourfold jump from the $1.3 billion price tag it carried only eight months earlier. The pace of that increase underscores how quickly investor enthusiasm for AI video generation tools has been building, even as the sector remains young and competitive. The company was founded in 2023 by Alex Mashrabov, a former Snap executive, and has built a platform that lets users generate AI images and video from prompts. Beyond the core generation tools, Higgsfield has pushed into more filmmaker-oriented products, including a feature called Cinema Studio aimed at giving creators more structured control over AI-produced footage. Higgsfield's profile rose this past year after it helped premiere AI-generated films at high-profile venues, including screenings tied to Cannes and an event in New York. Those appearances gave the company visibility beyond the usual AI-tools crowd, positioning it as a name associated with AI cinema rather than just a generative app among many. The new funding, first reported by TechCrunch, adds Higgsfield to the growing list of AI video companies attracting massive rounds at steep valuations, reflecting investor bets that tools blending consumer-friendly generation with filmmaking features could capture a large share of the emerging AI content economy.
