ElevenLabs Rolls Out Music v2.5 Scoring Tools

ElevenLabs is pushing its updated Music v2.5 model into its ElevenCreative platform and developer API, aimed at composing soundtracks for ads and branded video content.

ElevenLabs has begun surfacing its Music v2.5 model inside ElevenCreative, positioning it as a way for brands and video creators to generate scores for advertisements and branded content directly within the platform rather than sourcing music separately. Alongside the ElevenCreative integration, the company is also making Music v2.5 available through its Music API, giving developers a way to build music generation into their own pipelines rather than relying solely on the consumer-facing tool. The API supports programmatic generation, meaning music creation can be triggered and controlled through code as part of a larger automated workflow. The API update includes a handful of specific capabilities beyond simple text-to-music generation: reference-based generation, which lets users steer output using an existing audio example; inpainting, for editing or replacing sections of a generated track without redoing the whole piece; and long-form composition, aimed at producing music that extends beyond short clips. ElevenLabs detailed the update in a post on X, framing it as an expansion of how creators and developers can use its music tools for video and branded work rather than as a standalone music-generation product.
